ail and well met, fellow adventurers
in Elanthia!
ere find you a missive
from the giantman cleric, Barberik Baldhead, OoV, including commentary
on many and divers topics, thanks to fine fellows, pleas, and
the odd impertinence of this oh so flawed Cleric.
irsteth and most important: to
those fine brawny ones amongst you, and those with the powerful
fingers, thank you for your inclusion of this stumbling Cleric
in your hunts, and for your care when he has met ill, which, as
you knoweth previously, comes about with astonishing regularity.
With particularity, thanks are due the ever faithful Itza, fine
fellow and constant companion, renowned Ranger, who spendeth much
of his time tracking the blood spoor of aforementioned Cleric,
to good Nilbo, who struggleth to impart knowledge unto the Cleric,
and to the great benefactor, Earthwind.
plea: the Cleric's duty is to
blesseth blades and other instruments for the proper release of
the souls of the UnDead. 'tis of course my pleasure to do so for
my fellows on the hunt, and from time to time, for the good and
enlightened stranger performing his duty to the Spirit of Lorminstra
and her servant, the Great Lord Voln. However, this Cleric has
become even more sensitive to the plight of the good healers,
for whom he previously had great fondness, and whom he now finds
imbued with the light of a patience which can only be a direct
gift of Lorminstra herself. The Plea: please do not point out
this Cleric to those pushy ones who come upon us and demand rudely
"ANY BLESSERS." They cannot be truly enlightened, as
they haven't learned the simplest of Holy Incantations: "please."
This Cleric has never been tipped or shown favor by a stranger
who has so demanded blessing, rather, he soon finds them poaching
his hard earned kills, whilst he struggles to recover the manna
spent upon the blessing: conversely, many of you, my friends,
have been kind and generous in your thanks. Please struggleth
thou to understand the Cleric who may not pause to provide blesses
for thou. It but cost the Brother or Sister Cleric, and delays
them from assisting their fellows.
his Plea, of course, applies doubly
for the good healers. They are truly the downtrodden servants,
cannot hunt as well as even a poor Cleric, and are deserving of
our true thanks.
e it known: Healers, and to some
lesser extent, Clerics, are not the best of hunters. 'Tis a kindness
to take a healer hunting the foul beasties which infest the lands,
stunning the beasties and allowing the healer to despatch them.
Remembereth that all who strike the beast in share, gain the blessings
of the Gods in reward for the despatch, or the release, in the
case of the poor, benighted, UnDead.
are thee well in the lands, and
luck to thee!
-Barberik Baldhead, Cleric of the 7th Year.
